Whether we want it to be, or not, all wedding plans in 2020 and beyond are (at least partially) focused around the virus that should not be named.
That is SO HARD.
SO. STINKIN'. HARD.
All of the questions that fill your head:
What should we do? Will people even come to our wedding? Can we even HAVE a wedding? The food and drinks may not look like how we imagined, what will they be? Will our venue honor our deposit at a later date? When will Covid end? ... and so on until eternity.
No one knows when this disease will be "over", and honestly, it probably never will be. However hopefully sooner rather than later we will know how to make Coronavirus be in the back of our minds, instead of it being in the forefront terrifying us.
Now, what to do about your wedding?
I can't answer that for you. I can't. I wish that I could. I have been asked many times over the last couple of months what I would do if I were a bride right now... here is my answer: I would get married!! It would be small, and different then I pictured, but I would 100% get married!!!!
I know that we all have a picture in our mind of what our wedding should be, what it will look like, and who will be there. A wedding that does not look like any of those things obviously feels like a punch to the gut, and feels like a bit of a cop out. A compromise you absolutely should not have to make.
I truly believe that everyone deserves to have the wedding of their dreams... but in these times we are facing, your dreams need to be fluid. In motion, and ever-evolving, because at the end of the day, no one one knows what the future holds.
However, ALL THAT MATTERS is that at the end of the day, you have married the person of your dreams, and your life is starting!!
Micro-Weddings, Elopements, or much smaller, intimate options are awesome right now!! These are the best of both worlds (obviously still a compromise), you can have a wedding ceremony now with 2-10 (or 20 at the most) guests, and a bigger reception once we know everything is safe, and you don't have to keep evolving and changing your plans each week as we move through the different phases, and levels of quarantine and safe social distancing.
I know this is not the answer for everyone, but if it is, and you need help navigating through all of the craziness, please let me know. I would love to help with your romantic, intimate ceremony, as well as your larger, ceremony and reception!!
